Wimbledon
The home of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon hosts the oldest tennis tournament every year in July and is undoubtedly the greatest venue for tennis.
Staging one of the four major tennis grand slams annually, and the only one still played on grass, Wimbledon holds a number of distinct traditions and stays true to its roots. Players must wear all-white clothing, while for visitors, strawberries and cream with Pimms are a staple of the day. With both being served all day long.
It’s not just all about tennis on the court though, as after the game you can visit the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum, Wimbledon Windmill Museum and the unusual Wat Buddhapadipa Temple.
